What's the best way to clean and care for HuskeeSteel?Updated 25 days ago

HuskeeSteel needs to be cared for differently than our other Huskee products and ranges. It is made from 91% post-consumer recycled stainless steel and is rust-resistant, odourless, and long-lasting. Follow the below advice and cleaning guide to ensure that your HuskeeSteel maintains its functionality and can be used to its maximum lifespan.

To clean the exterior of HuskeeSteel we recommend you:
  1. Rinse HuskeeSteel with warm water to remove any particles or dirt.
  2. Use a mild dish soap and a soft sponge or cloth to gently wash the cup's interior and exterior.
  3. Rinse the cup thoroughly with warm water to eliminate any soap residue.
To clean the inside, which is lined with ceramic, we recommend:
  1. Gently hand wash the cup using warm water and mild detergent.
  2. Rinse the cup thoroughly with warm water to ensure all detergent is removed.

We highly advise not to use abrasive cleaners, scrub brushes, or harsh chemicals, as they may damage the powder-coated finish. Stirring with a metal object ie. a spoon is not recommended as they might damage the ceramic lining.

For Dishwasher Placement
It is generally safe to place the HuskeeSteel brushed steel cups in the top rack of your dishwasher. However, to maintain the cup's appearance and longevity, we recommend the following precautions:
  1. Ensure the cup is not in direct contact with other metal objects or utensils during the dishwasher cycle to avoid potential scratching.
  2. Use a gentle dishwasher cycle with moderate water temperature.
  3.  Avoid using harsh detergents or dishwasher pods that may contain bleach or abrasive chemicals, as they can adversely affect the cup's finish.
  4. After the dishwasher cycle, promptly remove the cup and dry it with a clean towel to prevent water spots or mineral deposits.

We don't recommend putting the Black, White, and Slate HuskeeSteel cups in the dishwasher.

To properly dry your HuskeeSteel cup, promptly remove the cup after the dishwasher cycle, dry it with a clean towel, or allow it to air dry.

In the event that you do notice rust on your HuskeeSteel, we recommend using vinegar and baking soda solution, which is an effective option for deep cleaning. Our top tips are to:
  1. Create a mixture by combining equal parts of vinegar and warm water.
  2. Apply the mixture to the cup's interior and exterior using a soft sponge or cloth.
  3. Gently scrub the cup's surfaces, paying attention to any areas with stains or stubborn residue.
