Can I write on BorrowCups?Updated 2 days ago

Serving in reusables should be easy and not much different in convenience to the single-use we all got used to. If you are used to writing orders/customers names on cups - this is the guide for you on how to do that with reusables!

Writing on Reusables

Reusables get used again, and again, and again and don't create waste.

Permanent markers and writing can damage cups, and/or are hard to get off (like everyone's favourite cup challenge - lipstick)

Solution (we tested them!)

  1. UNI liquid chalk markers - this even comes off in most dishwasher cycles without manual scrubbing! (example)
  2. Some 'bullet' whiteboard markers - not as good, but come off without permanent 'shadowing' (example)

Do Not Use (these damage cups)

  • Ballpoint pens
  • Sharpies or other permanent markers
  • permanent grease pencils

Summary

If you can take orders and eliminate writing on cups altogether - this is the best option.

Consider using order receipts or POS functions to add names there instead.

If cups get damaged - we have to remove them from service. Let's give them as long a life as possible.
