Are Borrow Cups kerbside recyclable?Updated 14 days ago
Borrow cups are a commonly used rigid plastic (PP or #5), and the third most commonly used plastic in packaging (yoghurt containers, food containers). PP is often captured in recycling facilities and is classified as recyclable.
IMPORTANT - Borrow cups are not intended to be recycled in kerbside recycling. They are meant to be REUSED (not single use), and Huskee wants them back at their end-of-life, so that we can repurpose them through our HuskeeLoop program. This way we can ensure that they have a second life.
While PP is technically recyclable, it may not be eligible for kerbside recycling depending on where you live. Access/acceptability of PP in kerbside recycling is dependent on the Council you live in. You will need to contact your local council to confirm whether you can recycle cups this way.
